two-time Emmy Award winner, eight-time nominee, Paramount+'s The Good Fight, NBC’s Brooklyn Nine-Nine
One of Hollywood’s most respected actors, two-time Emmy Award-winner (HOMICIDE, THIEF), eight-time Emmy Award-nominee (BROOKLYN NINE-NINE, MEN OF A CERTAIN AGE, THIEF, GIDEON’S CROSSING, HOMICIDE, THE TUSKEGEE AIRMEN) Andre Braugher is able to cross over from television to film to theatre with ease. Currently, Andre stars opposite Andy Samberg as precinct captain ‘Ray Holt’ in the FOX hit comedy BROOKLYN NINE-NINE, in it’s 8th and final season.
Braugher has appeared in several feature films including GLORY, POSEIDON, FANTASTIC 4: RISE OF THE SILVER SURFER, PASSENGERS, SALT, and most recently, THE GAMBLER.
Andre’s television work includes GIDEON’S CROSSING, THIEF (for which he won an Emmy for Outstanding Performance by a Lead Actor in a Mini-Series and a Golden Globe Award nomination), MEN OF A CERTAIN AGE alongside Ray Romano and Scott Bakula (for which he received Emmy Award nominations in 2010 and 2011), and LAW & ORDER SVU.
Andre has appeared on stage with the New York Shakespeare Festival in Measure for Measure, Twelfth Night, in the title role of ‘Henry V’, which earned him an Obie Award in As You Like It. In 2011 Braugher starred in the Manhattan Theatre Club’s New York premiere of Matthew Lopez’s The Whipping Man. Most recently, he portrayed ‘Matt’ in the Broadway hit, Birthday Candles.
Andre who was born and raised in Chicago, earned a B.A. from Stanford University and an M.F.A. from Juilliard. Andre and his wife, actress Ami Brabson, have three sons. He currently resides in New Jersey.
