Jameela Jamil is a one-of-a-kind multi-hyphenate who works as an actress, writer, host, and activist. Jameela was first seen on American television starring as Tahani in Mike Schur’s Golden Globe-nominated NBC sitcom The Good Place, opposite Ted Danson and Kristen Bell. The Good Place went on to win Critics’ Choice Television, AFI, Peabody, and Television Critics Association awards. Jameela was a judge on HBO Max’s hit competition show, Legendary.
In 2022, Jameela officially joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe, where she originated the first on-screen role of the Marvel villain Tatania in the series She Hulk: Attorney at Law, currently streaming on Disney+. She also joined the cast of DC Comics animated feature film DC League of Super-Pets voicing the role of Wonder Woman, as well as the Star Trek spinoff series Star Trek: Prodigy voicing the role of Ensign Asencia, currently streaming on Paramount+. In November of the same year, she joined the cast of Peacock’s comedy series Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin in the role of up-and-coming pop star Gisesla.
She was most recently seen in Disney Pixar's ELIO with America Ferrera and Brad Garrett, and was a guest star in Poker Face, a murder mystery series directed by Rian Johnson, currently streaming on Peacock.
Jameela starred in Netflix's "People We Meet on Vacation," based on the 2021 novel, and Netflix rom-com "A Merry Little Ex-Mas" alongside a&b clients Melissa Joan Hart and Oliver Hudson. She is upcoming in romantic comedy "Lola and Freddie," Olivia Lee's feminist comedy "Hysterical," "Pyongyang Home Video" directed by award-winning Korean filmmaker Yoon Sung-hyun, BBC spin-off "The Split Up," and will lend her voice to "Paw Patrol: The Dino Movie."
She hosts and executive produces WRONG TURNS, her new home in podcasting, launched in May 2025 with Stewart Bailey, for which she won a Gracie Award in Digital Media. She is also well known for her former podcast I WEIGH WITH JAMEELA JAMIL, and previously hosted and executive produced BAD DATES, an original SmartLess Media podcast series in partnership with Amazon Music and Wondery, which premiered in March 2023. The hilarious podcast debuted at #1 on the Apple Podcast Comedy Charts.
Off-screen, Jameela is a powerful mental health activist. In 2018, Jameela launched a movement and allyship platform called I Weigh – a platform and community of changemakers who come together to share ideas, experiences and ultimately mobilize activism; exploring social issues that stem from mental health to climate change to the representation of marginalized groups. I Weigh publishes original content featuring interviews, editorial stories, BTS, mini docs, round-table discussions, informational assets and more across Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube.
In April 2020, the I Weigh with Jameela Jamil podcast launched with Earwolf, in which Jameela spoke to a variety of thought-leaders, performers, activists, influencers, and friends about their own experiences and stories with their mental health. With hilarious and vulnerable conversations, I Weigh amplified and empowered diverse voices in an accessible way to celebrate progress, not perfection. The podcast featured guests such as Gloria Steinem, Reese Witherspoon, Jane Fonda, Billy Porter, Demi Lovato, Tarana Burke and Alok Vaid-Menon, to name a few.
