Kim Fields is a veteran actress with an eminent household name, starring in two long running series, NBC’s "Facts of Life" and "Living Single” on Fox. Both shows remain in worldwide syndication, consistently reinforcing her place as a global, pop culture icon.
As an esteemed and versatile performer in front of and behind the camera, Kim is currently starring in the hit Netflix comedy series, "The Upshaws.” Starring opposite Wanda Sykes and Mike Epps, Kim plays Regina Upshaw, wife of Bennie (Epps), and raising their blended family in Indiana struggling to make it work without any blueprints. The series launched in 2021, became an instant hit landing as their #1 new show and received a second season order as well as a People’s Choice nomination for Best Choice Comedy 2021 and an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Comedy Series. In addition, Kim starred in “Adventures in Christmasing,” a romantic action-adventure film set during the holidays, from Viacom-MTV Entertainment Studios which premiered in November 2021 on VH1. Kim not only starred as the lead in the film, she also co-created the story, served as an Executive Producer on the project, wrote a song for the soundtrack and performed her own stunts (!!!) which includes zip lining, jumping from a helicopter, repelling down a mountain, wading through icy waters and chasing wild animals. The film also starred Jonathan Silverman, Kel Mitchell, Eva Marcille and Adrian Holmes.
Additionally, behind the camera, Kim directed the pilot, the subsequent three episodes and served as a Consulting Producer on the BET+ drama series "All The Queen’s Men.” Immediately following this stint, Kim went on to two other projects, another BET+ series, "The Ms. Pat Show”, a comedy from Lee Daniels & Brian Grazer, which she directed two episodes and she directed the pilot and all eight episodes and served as an Executive Producer of the upcoming drama series, “Vicious.”
Kim is recognized for developing and curating successful content in several digital and social media platforms, including her own. Kim has accumulated numerous additional starring and guest starring roles in TV movies and series, as well as independent feature films over her 40 year career, including the critically acclaimed feature film, "A Question Of Faith”. Kim delivered a powerful performance in that movie, which also streamed on Netflix and had its cable debut on Lifetime on Easter Sunday (2020).
Kim additionally starred in the Sky/BritBox British comedy-drama series "Living The Dream”. Proving her endurance as a fan favorite and industry staple, Kim also starred in the highest rated 2017 holiday movie for Lifetime, "Wrapped Up In Christmas”, and one of Hallmark Channel’s highest rated movies, "For Better Or For Worse” in 2014. Kim also continues to be lauded for her successful (and unexpected) runs on "The Real Housewives of Atlanta” (S8) and "Dancing With The Stars” (S22).
Further, as an award winning director-producer, Kim directed the award worthy short film, "Baby Blues”, for BET’s various platforms in June of 2020. Also in 2020, Kim directed five episodes in the initial order of Nickelodeon’s "Young Dylan” series. She directed the big Christmas episode of Disney’s "Raven’s Home” (2019) and HBO’s "Insecure” season three (2019) show-in-a-show, "Kev’yn”. She also guest starred on the series in season four (2020).
Kim was one of the lead directors for nearly 90 episodes of "Tyler Perry's Meet the Brown's" and "Tyler Perry’s House of Payne” on TBS. No stranger to the holiday entertainment space, Kim has created, produced and hosted a nationally syndicated radio special, Holiday Love, garnering over a million listeners annually. In addition, Kim was praised for her starring role in and serving as an Executive Producer on Lifetime’s "You Light Up My Christmas” (December, 2019).
Finally, Kim is also proud of her autobiography, Blessed Life (Hachette N.Y) published in 2018 and most proud of her two sons — Sebastian, 14 and Quincy, 7.
