Matt McGorry is best known for his role as 'John Bennett' on the hit Netflix series ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK, for which he earned a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series, and as 'Asher Millstone' in the hit crime-drama HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER. He hosts a HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER rewatch podcast alongside Jack Falahee.

His other television credits include PUBLIC MORALS, ELEMENTARY, ROYAL PAINS, GOSSIP GIRL, PERSON OF INTEREST, and sketch comedy series COLLEGE HUMOR ORIGINALS. He has starred in comedic music videos for HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER and Australian group PEKING DUK. 
 
McGorry also starred in HOW HE FELL IN LOVE which was an Official Selection for the LA Film Festival 2015 and in drama film UNCORKED. He also appeared in Netflix horror series ARCHIVE 81, as ‘Mark’, an eccentric trust-fund kid obsessed with his podcast. His additional film credits include STEP SISTERS, LOSERVILLE, RATTER, and DEATH OF A TELEMARKETER.
 
McGorry is a passionate advocate for women’s equal rights. After reading Sheryl Sandberg's book Lean In and listening to Emma Watson's speech at the United Nations HeForShe campaign, McGorry decided he was a feminist. He has been a strong supporter of the "It's On Us" campaign and invites all genders to do their part in shifting the culture.
 
McGorry is a regular global traveler, and is an expert in physical fitness, having been a certified trainer. McGorry is also well known for his humorous social media presence and carries an incredibly engaged audience. He was selected as the 2015 SAG Social Media Ambassador and the 2015 Oscars Red Carpet Fan Ambassador.
