Curtiss Cook is an actor who has been committed to his craft for decades. Cook started in the theater and eventually moved to London and New York City to pursue his dreams of becoming an actor, like those he admired while growing up in Dayton, Ohio. His career led him to live in London, where Curtiss became the first American to receive a full-ride scholarship to London's prestigious Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts, and New York City, which exposed him to different styles.
He then moved to NYC and began performing on Broadway, including roles in THE LION KING and MISS SAIGON. Since then, he has appeared in films ARBITRAGE, THE INTERPRETER, and SHUTTER ISLAND, along with roles in series such FX’s MAYANS MC, NBC’s MANIFEST, Netflix’s HOUSE OF CARDS, LUKE CAGE, and NARCOS. He starred in Steven Spielberg’s film WEST SIDE STORY and in six seasons of Showtime's gritty, Chicago-based hit series THE CHI as the successful southside businessman turned mayor 'Douda' - who has been called one the most polarizing characters on television. He also guest stars as new FBI Assistant Director Lawrence Green in CBS's FBI and in the second season of Apple TV's MONARCH: LEGACY OF MONSTERS, and appears in Netflix thriller CARRY ON (2024).
He is a father of five, and grandfather of three. When not on set, he spends a fair amount of time at the gym and enjoys boxing.
