Jesse James Keitel is quickly emerging as one of Hollywood's most sought-after actors. Keitel can currently be seen as “Ruthie” a trans, former party-girl in Peacock’s hit reimagining of QUEER AS FOLK. She made history as ABC's first openly transgender series regular as “Jerrie Kennedy” in David E. Kelley's hit series BIG SKY where she captured viewer’s hearts. Keitel also just premiered as “Dr. Aspen” aka “Angel” making history yet again as the first openly trans woman on STAR TREK: STRANGE NEW WORLDS for Paramount+.
As an advocate Keitel was also recently a part of DISNEY+'s First Ever Pride Celebration Special and she was awarded the Equality Award by the HRC - Human Rights Campaign. Keitel has been pivotal in moving the needle for the LGBTQ+ community's timely representation in Hollywood.
Originally from eastern Long Island, NY, Keitel attended Pace University in New York City where she received a BFA in Acting. Keitel is also a drag artist under the pseudonym “Peroxide” of the Haus of Femanon.
