Biography

De Sousa is best known for her performance as the infamous ‘Shelby’ in the Universal Studio franchise The Best Man and The Best Man Holiday starring opposite Taye Diggs and Terrence Howard for which she earned an NAACP Image Award nomination. On the silver screen, De Sousa recently wrapped the first season of Our Kind Of People opposite Morris Chestnut for Fox and is teaming up again with Nia Long, Sanaa Lathan, Regina Hall, Terrence Howard, Harold Perrineau and Taye Diggs in the highly anticipated Peacock limited series The Best Man, The Final Chapters which starts filming early 2022. Other recent credits include recurring as ‘Chief Ana Lopez’ on CW's Black Lightning and as the pill popping journalist ‘Mirta Herrera’ on Showtime's On Becoming a God in Central Florida opposite Kirsten Dunst.
