Camryn Manheim is an Emmy and Golden Globe winning actor best known as defense attorney 'Ellenor Frutt' on ABC's THE PRACTICE, a role she played for 8 years. She earned a second Emmy and Golden Globe nomination for her portrayal of 'Gladys Presley' in the CBS miniseries ELVIS, and has 3 Screen Actors Guild nominations.

She is upcoming in DELUXE OCEAN VIEW, a psychological horror feature shot on Cape Cod, playing enigmatic hotel owner 'Vera' alongside Callan McAuliffe, Henry Ian Cusick and Ray Campbell, directed by Laurence Vannicelli. She recently guest starred as 'Jocelyn Tait' in the second season of Fox's MURDER IN A SMALL TOWN opposite Rossif Sutherland and Kristin Kreuk.

Manheim played 'Lieutenant Kate Dixon' across 3 seasons and 48 episodes of NBC's LAW & ORDER, helping relaunch the flagship in 2021, and 'Lieutenant Cosgrove' in ABC's STUMPTOWN. Her television work also includes BIG SHOT, WACO, GHOST WHISPERER, PERSON OF INTEREST, UTOPIA, CRIMINAL MINDS, CODE BLACK, MASTERS OF SEX, TWO AND A HALF MEN, HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER, EXTANT, THIS IS US, CHICAGO HOPE, HARRY'S LAW, YOUNGER, HAND OF GOD, THE L WORD, WILL & GRACE, ALLY MCBEAL and FAMILY GUY. On film she has appeared in HAPPINESS, THE LARAMIE PROJECT, ROMY AND MICHELE'S HIGH SCHOOL REUNION, SCARY MOVIE 3, AN UNFINISHED LIFE, DARK WATER, COP CAR, RETURN TO SENDER, SLIPSTREAM, THE ROAD TO WELLVILLE and ERASER.

She made her Broadway debut in Deaf West's Tony-nominated production of SPRING AWAKENING and won an Obie Award for Craig Lucas' MISSING PERSONS at the Atlantic Theater Company. A fluent signer who worked as a hospital sign language interpreter before acting full time, she has brought the skill to the screen in THE PRACTICE and in LAW & ORDER episodes 3 decades apart.

In 1995 Manheim wrote and starred in her one-woman show WAKE UP, I'M FAT! at The Public Theater, and became a New York Times bestselling author when the book was published in 1999. She teaches and lectures across the United States and abroad, and received her MFA from New York University.
