Jessica Capshaw is an actress best known for her roles on THE PRACTICE and global hit GREY'S ANATOMY as ‘Dr. Arizona Robbins’, a role spanning over 10 years.
Capshaw graduated from Harvard-Westlake School in Los Angeles in 1994. She then enrolled at Brown University, where she appeared in productions of Arcadia and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. She graduated in 1998 with a B.A. in English. During summers, she attended classes at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts (RADA) in London, where she appeared as Puck in a production of A Midsummer Night's Dream.
Capshaw’s other Television credits include: THE L WORD, BONES, BLIND TRUST, HEAD CASE, ONE ANGRY JUROR, and the TNT miniseries INTO THE WEST with Keri Russell, Josh Brolin, and Skeet Ulrich.
Capshaw had a minor role in the drama THE LOCUSTS, co-starring her mother, at age nineteen. She subsequently had a role in Adam Rifkin's independent film DENIAL. In the 2001 slasher film VALENTINE, Capshaw played ‘Dorothy Wheeler’. She then had a lead role in Edward Burns' THE GROOMSMEN.
Recently, she co-starred in the ensemble Netflix holiday comedy HOLIDATE with a star-studded cast including Emma Roberts, Kristen Chenoweth. Currently, she is working The dramatic coming-of-age film DEAR ZOE with Sadie Sink (STRANGER THINGS) coming out this Fall and is in the midst of starting her own podcast.
Jessica resides in Los Angeles with her four children and husband, Christopher Gavigan, the co-founder of The Honest Company with Jessica Alba, and eco-expert. His newest venture is Prima – a CBD skincare and wellness brand.
