Julie Benz recently starred in indie high school drama The Midway Point, Hulu's Love, Victor and in Fox series 9-1-1: Lone Star in a recurring role opposite Rob Lowe. She is set to star in and executive produce Horrified, a horror-comedy in which she plays a down-on-her-luck scream queen. 

She also appeared alongside Kirsten Dunst in the Golden Globe nominated Showtime series On Becoming A God In Central Florida.  Julie is best known for her SAG-nominated leading role on Showtime’s 5-time Golden Globe, 3-time Screen Actors Guild, and 4-time Emmy-nominated series Dexter as Dexter’s beloved wife, Rita Bennett. Benz won the Golden Satellite Award for Best Supporting TV Actress and continues to maintain her legacy as what television critics have touted as “one of the most shocking deaths ever in television history.” 

She is also well known for her role as 'Darla' in Buffy spin-off series Angel. Benz starred as Holly Butler, an unapologetic Hollywood madam in the Training Day reboot for CBS opposite Bill Paxton. She recently starred in Lifetime's Secrets of a Gold Digger Killer, recurred for multiple seasons on the hit CBS drama Hawaii Five-O as well as the series Defiance.

Other film credits include Foster Boy, Nocturne, Supremacy, Answers to Nothing, The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day, Saw V, Rambo, George of the Jungle 2, The Brothers, Jawbreaker, and As Good As It Gets.

Benz was a professional figure skater until age 13 and competed in the 1988 US Championships in junior ice dancing. She resides in Los Angeles with her husband Rich Orosco, EVP at the Los Angeles Soccer Club.
