Katie Cassidy is third generation working as an actress in Hollywood. She is best known for her work as ‘Laurel Lance/Black Canary’, the female lead on the hit show ARROW. She's also known for starring in GOSSIP GIRL, SUPERNATURAL, MELROSE PLACE REBOOT, TAKEN, CLICK, MONTE CARLO, and NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET.

Most recently, she starred as Karen Read in Lifetime movie ACCUSED: THE KAREN READ STORY (January 2026), in which she plays the woman at the center of the high-profile Boston murder case, and the SPEED DEMON franchise alongside William H. Macy. Next up, she is set to lead psychological thriller NANNY CAM, written and directed by Jenni "JWoww" Farley.**Her versatility and approachability have made her a household name.

In 2019, Katie went through Warner Brother's 3 month directors program, and later that year marked her directorial debut on CW’s ARROW. Shortly after, she wrote/produced & directed her 1st short film AMERICA'S NEXT BEST PRESIDENT which debuted in several film festivals in 2024 - receiving awards and nominations for "Best Short Comedy". Currently, she's slated to direct WARD NO. 6, an Anton Chekhov story adaptation that explores mental illness. She's also set to direct feature THE VATICAN CATACOMBS for Fanx Studios.

Additional film credits include COVER VERSIONS, GRACE, THE SCRIBBLER, WHEN A STRANGER CALLS, AGENT GAME (2022), and crime drama I LOVE US, which she also executive produced. She starred as 'Petra' in thriller FALLOUT (2023). Her work in the horror genre has led to her nickname 'The Scream Queen.'

Katie’s advocacy ranges from being a spokeswoman for the charity H.E.L.P. Malawi, spending time with kids at the Six Senses Yao Noi Charity house in Thailand, Race To Erase MS Charity events, and presenting at the Step Up Inspiration Awards - an NGO dedicated to guiding and helping young women define success.

She currently resides in Los Angeles.
