Chris Sullivan is well known for his role as Toby in NBC's award-winning show "This Is Us" for 6 seasons, which earned him 2019 and 2021 Emmy nominations in the category of Best Supporting Actor in a Television Drama. He has since gone on to star in projects including the Peacock limited series "Devil in Disguise: John Wayne Gacy" and Steven Soderbergh's "Presence."
In 2018, he starred in the HBO series “Camping” as Joe. His other television credits include Marvel’s “What If…?,” “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” “The Good Fight,” “Stranger Things,” and “The Knick” for which he won a Satellite Award for Best Ensemble. He also voiced 'Behemoth' in Peacock's "Megamind vs. The Doom Syndicate" and "Megamind Rules!"
Sullivan is known for his role as Taserface in Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.” His other film credits include “Broadcast Signal Intrusion,” “I Trapped the Devil,” “Live by Night,” “Morgan,” "The Normal Heart," and “The Drop.” He also recently starred in the short film “Hammer Down.”
Theatrically, Sullivan has appeared in “Nice Work If You Can Get It,” “Chicago,” “Lombardi,” “Hadestown” and “Babes in Toyland.” He was nominated for a 2012 Outer Critics Circle Award in the category of Outstanding Featured Actor in a Musical on behalf of “Nice Work If You Can Get It” and a 2017 Lucille Lortel Award in the category of Outstanding Featured Actor in a Musical on behalf of “Hadestown.”
When not acting, Sullivan writes music and plays with his band, Joseph and the Spouse. The band released their album, Six Feet Under, in November 2020.
