Skylar Astin is best known for his star turn as 'Jesse Swanson' in the PITCH PERFECT franchise. On television, he most recently starred as lead opposite Oscar winner Marcia Gay Harden on CBS' SO HELP ME TODD, which ran for two seasons from 2022 to 2024. Prior to that he starred in NBC's award-winning series ZOEY'S EXTRAORDINARY PLAYLIST alongside Jane Levy and Mary Steenburgen, and was previously seen in Disney+'s SECRET SOCIETY OF SECOND BORN ROYALS. He also starred opposite Golden Globe winner Rachel Bloom in the final season of The CW's CRAZY EX-GIRLFRIEND, starred as 'Isaiah Miller' alongside Nick Nolte in the Golden Globe-nominated dark comedy GRAVES on EPIX, and recurred on Season 18 of ABC's GREY'S ANATOMY.

On the film side, Skylar starred opposite Miles Teller in the comedy 21 AND OVER for Relativity, TAKING WOODSTOCK for director Ang Lee, the Sundance cult-hit HAMLET 2, as well as FLOCK OF DUDES, CAVEMEN, the psychological thriller GHOSTS OF WAR, and the beloved Disney animated film WRECK IT RALPH. He can currently be seen in F*CK VALENTINE'S DAY, a romantic comedy opposite Oscar winner Marisa Tomei and Virginia Gardner, released digitally February 6th and in theaters February 13th, 2026. Upcoming, he stars in Mark O'Brien's horror comedy NICE PEOPLE alongside Sosie Bacon, Chloe Bennet, and Keean Johnson, and Catherine Hardwicke's indie drama STREET SMART opposite Marcia Gay Harden. He has also been cast in BRAVE KNIGHT, an animated musical from Lookbook Entertainment alongside Jordan Fisher, Peyton List, Sydney Agudong, and Meg Donnelly, announced at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival.

A native New Yorker, Skylar's first break came as 'Georg' in the 2006 cultural phenomenon SPRING AWAKENING, which went on to win 8 Tony Awards. He portrayed the iconic role of 'Tony' in Carnegie Hall's performance of WEST SIDE STORY, and performed alongside Sutton Foster, Patina Miller, and Cheyenne Jackson in Stephen Sondheim's INTO THE WOODS at the Hollywood Bowl. He also portrayed 'Mark Cohen' in RENT opposite Aaron Tveit, Vanessa Hudgens, Wayne Brady, and Nicole Scherzinger, and recently returned to Off-Broadway as 'Seymour' in LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS. In March 2026, he performed at Carnegie Hall in WE CHOSE TO GO TO THE MOON alongside Elizabeth Gillies. Skylar currently resides in Los Angeles, CA.
